Riad Toufic Salamé

Governor of the Banque du Liban, Lebanon’s Central Bank since 1993. In this capacity, he is the Governor for Lebanon at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF). He is also the Chairman of the Higher Banking Commission and of the Special Investigation Commission fighting money laundering. He had an extensive career in Merrill Lynch Beirut and Paris offices (1973-1993), he served as Vice-President and Financial Adviser at Merrill Lynch in Paris. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
