Ambassador of India to France since 2013. Previously, he was Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, Washington D.C (2008-2013), Ambassador of India to Israel (2005-2008), Joint Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs (2000-2005). He also served in the Indian Mission at Moscow as Counsellor-Minister (1997-2000) and as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations Office, New York (1993-1997). He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1979. He graduated from Delhi University.
