Former vice-president of the Republic of Iraq. He represented the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) in different countries. He served as Finance Minister in the government of Dr. Iyad Allawi (2004-2005). He was elected as a Representative of the UIA (United Iraqi Alliance) (2005) and he held the position of Vice-President of Iraq (2005-2011). He graduated in Economics from Baghdad University.
