Former Director of the Global Economy Program at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). He also serves as Chairman of the Oxford Institute for Economic Policy and Vice-Chairman of the New Rules for Global Finance Coalition. Formerly, he was a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a member of the Executive Boards of both the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Earlier on, he worked in the Research Department of the Bank of Italy. He graduated from the Bocconi University in Milan and from Oxford University’s Nuffield College.
