His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan has occupied the position of Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence since October 2017. H.E. Sheikh Nahayan joined the Federal Government in 1990 and held a number of portfolios including Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Minister of Education, and Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development. H.E. Sheikh Nahayan was also the Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University from 1983 to 2013; Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology from 1988 to 2013; and President of Zayed University from 1998 to 2013.
