Hossein Amirabdollahian

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Countries, Islamic Republic of Iran, since 2011. Previoulsy, he was Director General for the Persian Gulf and the Middle-East (2010). He was also Iran’s Ambassador to Bahrain (2007-2010), Head of the Special Department for Iraq (Foreign Ministry) (2006-2007), Deputy Director General for the Persian Gulf and the Middle-East (2006), Special Assistant of the Foreign Minister for Iraqi Affairs (2003-2006), Deputy of the First Persian Gulf Political Department (2001) and Political Expert and Deputy Ambassador in the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad (1997-2001). He is a Founding Member of the West Asia Research Center. He holds a PhD. in International Relations from Tehran University.
