Lecturer and member of the steering committee of the Cycle des hautes études européennes (National Institute of Public Service, former ENA), member of the steering committee of the Institut des droits fondamentaux numériques (IDFRights.org, Paris) and senior advisor for geopolitical studies at MEDEF (Network of French entrepreneurs). He served as advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (1997-2002), Director of the Policy Planning Staff (1999-2002), French Ambassador to the Baltic States (Latvia, 2002-2006), and Ambassador on European Affairs (2006-2007). He was Director of Studies and Research at the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN 2009-2013) and held the Chair of Applied Geopolitics at the College of Global Studies (Fondation de la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, 2013-2020). He was a professor at Lumière Lyon II University, the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) and the College of Europe in Natolin (Poland).
