Previously, he was a lawyer with Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in Chicago, a lecturer at Yale Law School and a visiting lecturer at Columbia Law School. A member of the California Bar and the Illinois Bar, he received his JD from the University of California, Berkeley Law School and a BA from the University of Michigan.
