Qatari, French FMs meet on bilateral ties

DOHA, Nov 19 (KUNA) — Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Saturday met his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault, now on a visit to Qatar.
The two sides discussed the friendly relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing cooperation, official media reported.
They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
Sheikh Mohammad expressed Qatar’s desire to further strengthen the bilateral relations with France in various fields.
Yesterday the French minister’s office said in a press release that Ayrault will discuss with his Qatari peer the situations in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
During his stay, Ayrault is also scheduled to meet Head of the Syrian Higher Negotiation Committee (HNC) of the Syrian Opposition Riyad Farid Hijab, according to the statement.
On Sunday he will address the World Policy Conference, due in Doha on November 20-22.
